Can Pillowcases be Christmas Presents?

First off let me start by telling you that this is my first post!! I am afraid that nobody will read this or that somebody might read it and not like it. Being short of funds this year and having a lot of fabric, I knew that I had to sew something for my gift recipients. I wanted it to be cute, but of course it has to be easy to sew. Hhmmmmm.........what can use up a lot of my fabric stash, cost me little to nothing, be cute and make a good present. Pillowcases?

Now remember I did say that they have to be cute, so they can't be made out of lame fabric. The truth is I can't make myself sew on fabric that I don't like. I got out all of the Christmas Fabrics and auditioned them with other fabrics for the cuff of the pillowcase. The next thing you know I am cutting out pillowcases and I am happy with this project.

I am not kidding myself to believe that any little ones that receive these are going to think what a great gift it is to get a pillowcase, but maybe they will appreciate it in years to come. I am hoping that it will start a tradition in the families where I am giving them and they will want to get them out year after year to put on their beds.

I am planning on making a couple of pairs for my house too, so we will have Christmas Pillowcases too. My sister will get a pair for her darling grandson Ethan, so when he comes to their house he will have the Christmas Pillowcases. The problem will be which ones we are going to keep for ourselves. I have invested a lot over the years and only buy the fabric I love, so giving it away is really hard, particularly if I have none left. I will be posting pictures of the stacks of pillowcases, (which are currently just cut out). I have sewn one that is sew very cute for one of my niece's daughter, Reagan. Hopefully she won't find my blog or the picture.
